Rev. Andrew J. Nearpass, Senior Pastor. Pastor Andy has been our spiritual leader since 1995. He has strong gifts in preaching and teaching the Word of God as it is written in the Bible; he leads Grace Church through the Staff, Elders, Consistory and Ministry Teams and gives prayerful encouragement, direction and counsel; he is our shepherd and is happy to visit with you whether you have a special need or just want to talk. Joseph Greenwald, Director of Youth Ministries. Joe has been the leader of our Youth Ministries since December, 2005. His goal is to recruit and work effectively with Children, Junior High, Senior High and College Age Ministries and their adult leaders in the planning and leading of youth programs. He works to develop and train student leaders and interns for participation in future ministry opportunities and to integrate student participation in church life. Rev. Jacob Dykstra, Minister of Calling. Pastor Jake is retired from full time ministry and we are blessed to have him and his wife, Arlene, to provide pastoral counsel, scripture reading and prayer to those that are hospitalized, shut in, widows, widowers, or others that need a visit for a special need. Katie Kapteyn, Worship Director. Katie has been serving Grace Church since the Fall, 2007. Katie was born with a song in her heart. She has been called to lead worship and share her music in intimate settings of coffeehouses, youth groups, and small congregations to large student chapels, churches of 1,000-5,000 in various states, and events in parks, including Navy Pier in Chicago. Katie has enjoyed the opportunity to open concerts from artists such as Peder Eide, Shaun Groves and Glenn Kaiser, along with finishing a Christian Contemporary Music degree at Greenville College. At the core of her music, Katie Kapteyn’s driving passion is to worship the Creator and point hearts to all He is and all He has done. Katie is the point person for the Praise Team and gives direction to the group and recruits new singers and instrumentalists. She leads worship rehearsals and encourages the learning of new materials and the growth of the group as a caring team of worshippers. She is also available to help with the worship within the different ministries as well as special programs. Katie’s UTMOST desire is to bring glory to GOD and witness thousands upon thousands fall to their knees in worship—to see hand lifted up and lives changed because of obedience; doing what He has created and commanded us to do. And this is worship Him.

Kim Ballard, Office Administrator. Kim has been coordinating our church office since 1989. She works closely with the pastors, staff, Consistory, ministries and organizations to keep things organized administratively. She maintains the schedule of church events and communication between the different parties. The church vans may also be scheduled through her. Kim is married to Bob and they have four children. Dawn Slager, Bulletin Secretary. Dawn has been preparing, printing and distributing the weekly bulletin and Grace To You since 1995. Dale & Debra Hoekstra, Custodian. Dale and Debbie have served as the church custodians for 20 years. They are responsible for room set ups and take downs, lighting, climate control, security, minor building repairs, stocking of paper supplies, and spot cleaning in between the weekly cleaning service of the church. Alice Beth Barnes has been handling the weekly cleaning of the church building, Education Wing and White House since November, 2007. Alice is married to Bob and they have 3 adult children and 10 grandchildren.
